Geführte Wanderung auf dem BohnErzWeg

The BohnErzWeg connects the five municipalities of Dittelsheim-Heßloch, Framersheim, Gau-Heppenheim, Hochborn, and Monzernheim. For these municipalities, the extraction of iron ore was an important economic factor. From 1820 to about 1870, significant amounts of iron ore were mined here, washed at the ore washing facility, and transported to Eisenberg, Hochstein, and Trippstein.
The BohnErzWeg connects the five municipalities, leads to the mining sites and the reconstructed ore washing facility in the Gau-Heppenheimer territory. Thematic panels provide information about the extraction of bog iron in the 19th century. At the same time, the BohnErzWeg opens up our beautiful landscape with splendid views and passes through our well-known vineyards.
Ten years ago, on July 3, 2016, the BohnErzWeg around Kloppberg was opened. With our hike, we would like to remember that. It will take us on Sunday through the territories of Framersheim and Gau-Heppenheim to the reconstructed ore washing facility, where documents are displayed and bog iron chunks are laid out.
A sociable conclusion will take place in our ore washing hut. It will be led by Rolf Konrad Becker.
