The historian and director of the Traben-Trarbach Museum, Dr. Krieger, will report on the history of the German Wine Queen on October 7, 2026, at 7:30 PM. The event will take place at the Museum Schlosspark.

Under the title "Did the first German Wine Queen come from Kreuznach?" historian Dr. Krieger examines the interesting origin story of the German Wine Queens and engages with the claim of whether there was already a wine majesty from the Nahe metropolis in 1923 or if Neustadt an der Weinstraße can rightfully claim the idea of wine queens. His quest for the beginnings of the German Wine Queens uncovers unknown aspects, with his research findings extending beyond the Nahe region. The national socialist approach to wine will also be highlighted, as it plays a special economic and social role as a 'national beverage'. As part of a “Festival of the German Grape and Wine” taking place across the empire, the NSDAP organized folk wine festivals and parades everywhere.

Admission: €5.00, members of the Wine Order receive free admission (upon presentation of the order emblem or pin)

The Museum Schlosspark thanks the Wine Order at the Nahe for supporting these lectures.
