130 years of the church choir Weiler near Bingen invite you to a special concert:
Sounds that linger.
Voices that uplift.
And: Community that endures across generations.
If music is more than sound, if it touches, carries, and connects, then a concert becomes a true experience. This is exactly what the Catholic church choir “Cäcilia” Weiler invites you to: To the spiritual anniversary concert under the motto “PraiseSing” on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in St. Maria Magdalena parish church.
For 130 years, the choir has been an integral part of church and cultural life in Weiler. This anniversary will be celebrated with a concert intended to make joy, gratitude, and hope audible and to speak to people.
The program spans an impressive arc through the history of sacred music. From simple, meditative Gregorian chants to modern sacred compositions, a variety of sounds unfolds that are both familiar and surprising. Sometimes calm and contemplative, sometimes powerful and moving, but always carried by the idea of praising God with music.
More than 60 singers aged 17 to 91 will take the stage together for this project. This mix creates a special charm: generations come together, united by the joy of singing and shared expression.
The choir will be accompanied on the piano by Andreas Arneke from Mainz, who will musically shape the evening and impressively support the choir sound.
A brass group from the music association 1921 Weiler will additionally provide extra musical accents.
Admission is free, with a request for donations at the end.
Afterwards, all guests are invited to gather in front of the church to talk and let the evening come to a close in a sociable atmosphere.
The concluding event of the anniversary weekend will be the festive mass for the Feast of Christ the King on Sunday, November 22, 2026 at 10:30 a.m., which will also take place in St. Maria Magdalena and will be supported by the choir.
