on 22.11.2026 at 17:00 o'clock

All Saints’ Day, 22.11.2026 at 5 p.m. (Doors open at 4:30 p.m.) in the town hall of the Wörrstadt district “Schubert and Friends”

A cappella concert with “Camerata Musica Limburg” conducted by Jan Schumacher – works by Franz Schubert and others.
The male vocal ensemble “Camerata Musica Limburg” was founded in 1999 and has been led by Jan Schumacher since then. The formation represents a development of the shared musical roots of the choir members, which lie in the choir of the Limburg Cathedral Choirboys. At the same time, the singers continue the uniquely successful tradition of male chamber choirs of former Limburg Cathedral Choirboys throughout Germany. In 2004, “Camerata Musica Limburg” was awarded the title of the first “hr-Klassik – Choir of the Year.” The choir has received numerous first prizes at internationally renowned competitions, such as in 2006 at the “Florilège Vocal” in Tours (F), in 2007 at the international “Koorwedstrijd van Vlaanderen-Maasmechelen” (B), in 2008 at the Bremen Choir Festival competition, and in 2009 at the Hessian Choir Competition. In 2010, “Camerata Musica Limburg” won its category and first prize at the 8th German Choir Competition in Dortmund. Most recently, the ensemble was awarded two first prizes and the overall victory of the competition at the Kaunas Cantat competition (LT) in summer 2024. The choir's excellent reputation has led to festival and concert invitations throughout Germany, Europe, and beyond, including the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg and Hohenems, movimentos, and from the Mozarteum Argentino to Buenos Aires. In 2011, “Camerata Musica Limburg” was invited as a European representative to the 9th World Symposium on Choral Music in Puerto Madryn (Argentina). In 2013, the choir received an invitation to the National Conference of the American Choral Directors Association in Dallas. In spring 2019, the ensemble was a guest choir at América Cantat in Panama. The discography of “Camerata Musica Limburg” includes, among others, the CDs “Schöne Nacht,” “Von dem Dome,” and “Serenade” with sacred and secular works of the Romantic era, released by the Leipzig label Genuin classics, as well as the six-CD recording of all works for male choir by Franz Schubert.

Jan Schumacher (*1980) is the university music director at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and conductor of “Camerata Musica Limburg” as well as the choir of TU Darmstadt. Until 2016, he was a professor of choral conducting at the University of Church Music in Rottenburg. After studying music education and German studies in Mainz, Jan Schumacher studied choral conducting with Wolfgang Schäfer in Frankfurt. From a young age (musical training with the Limburg Cathedral Choirboys and in the state youth choir of Rhineland-Palatinate), he was influenced by the fascination of singing together, which continues to drive his diverse activities today. With his choirs, he develops a wide repertoire ranging from Gregorian chant to world premieres and jazz, from symphonic orchestras to big bands, as well as vocal or electronic improvisation. Jan Schumacher leads seminars for singers and conductors in many countries across Europe, Iceland, Turkey, Argentina, Venezuela, Iran, and the USA.
