On Whitsun, American star organist David Briggs will kick off the 2026 season of KulturSINN Rhein-Selz with a double concert in Oppenheim and Nierstein. The organizers are bringing one of the most internationally renowned organists to the Rhine. David Briggs stands for musicality and virtuosity. Like no one else, he captivates his audience with his virtuoso organ playing.

He has rearranged orchestral compositions by Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Elgar, Bruckner, Ravel, Bach, and Mahler for the organ, offering his listeners the opportunity to experience the “queen of instruments” in a new way. At the age of 17, David Briggs earned his diploma as a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists. Throughout his international career, he has won numerous awards and received many honors. Briggs is actively committed to keeping organ music relevant and alive. “Guests of KulturSINN Rhein-Selz can look forward to two concerts of the highest class on Whitsun,” says Rudolf Felgner, head of the Tourism Service Center of the Verbandsgemeinde Rhein-Selz.

And as is tradition in Rheinhessen, a cultural event is always rounded off with a little refreshment. Culture in churches and culinary delights is the triad of this unique event series.
