Cultural SENSE Tradition: With the Organ Duo Weinberger at the Martinskirche
The old Ott-Woehl organ could not compete with the outstanding acoustics of the Martinskirche in terms of sound quality, lacking in richness and volume. Since the end of 2023, the new Ott-Woehl organ has been impressing with its ability to produce both soft, quiet tones as well as powerful sounds. “A delight for all visitors and all artists,” says Deanery church musician Dr. Katrin Bibiella.
The organ duo Beatrice-Maria Weinberger and Prof. Gerhard Weinberger from Munich will perform in the Cultural SENSE Tradition series. The two artists, who also perform internationally, work as soloists and as a duo in concerts featuring four-handed organ music or music for two organs or two harpsichords. Beatrice-Maria Weinberger, together with her husband Prof. Gerhard Weinberger, recorded the complete organ works of the most famous student of Bach, Johann Ludwig Krebs, on significant Baroque organs in Southern Germany.
The OMNi e.V. organ building association invites you afterwards to a tasting featuring fine wines from Rheinhessen cellars and fresh Niersteiner organ pastries. The wine tasting cannot be booked online in advance but will take place on a donation basis on site.
