Mrs. Brell & the Filous | Concert

Our love for France gave rise to the band Mme Brell & die Filous in 2018.The acoustic instrumentation of accordion, saxophone, double bass, and guitar, combined with the singing of Mme Brell, provides the compositions with a maximum of variety and liveliness.

Listen to melodies and stories from summer by the sea, about jugglers and thieves, about nights on the Loire, and above all: the longing for the south.


The musicians:
Susanne Brell: Studied concert singer, acted as an actress and musical performer at the Wiesbaden State Theatre in the early 90s. She has been singing in various band formations from folk, swing, chanson, klezmer to Brecht since her youth.
Jürgen Dorn: played in numerous musical productions at the Wiesbaden State Theatre and was an accompanying musician for Paul Kuhn, Lee Konitz, and Joe Henderson. In addition to the deep tones, he is responsible for a large part of the original compositions.
Erik Buhne: as a keyboardist and saxophonist, he has been making music for many decades in various formations, from combos to big bands. With Mme Brell & die Filous, he has now rediscovered his heart for the softer tones.
Jens Mackenthun: Studied jazz guitar at HFM Mainz and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. As a particularly versatile guitarist, he works across genres in numerous ensembles in the Rhine/Main area, playing nationwide with bands from jazz, bossa nova, rock/pop, singer/songwriter, folk, klezmer, among others.
