Pentecost is carving time. This year, all Oppenheimers and guests of the city can look forward to the traditional "Wäldcheskerb zu Pfingsten" from May 22 to 25 on the festival meadow.
City councilor Silke Rautenberg and the responsible first alderman for culture and tourism, Stephan Arnold, are excited about this year's revival with old acquaintances and new actors. At the center is the popular fair atmosphere with a variety of rides, organized by the Barth-Sottile family. After the official opening of the Kerb with the tapping of the keg on Friday, May 22, at 7:30 p.m., DJ Johnny will be waiting on the festival stage for party and dance enthusiasts starting at 8 p.m. On Saturday, May 23, real Wäldcheskerb veterans will make a rocking statement for all live music fans at 8 p.m. with "Tschau Johnny!"
Sunday will again be all about music this year. The city band will perform an informal get-together with a "brunch concert" on the large festival stage starting at 12 p.m. The Sunday finale will be the second guest performance by DJ Johnny at 5 p.m.
Whit Monday invites big, small, and tiniest Kerb fans to enjoy the magic show on the festival stage starting at 2 p.m., before the stage belongs entirely to show dancing as part of the "Day of Ballets" from 3 p.m. The rides of the large amusement park on the festival meadow will open on Friday at 3 p.m., on Saturday from 2 p.m., and on Sunday and Monday at 11 a.m. respectively.
