Finissage tour of the exhibition "Palace - Ruin - Monument"

The Imperial Palace is celebrating an anniversary! Twenty-five years ago, the throne hall of Charlemagne was opened to the public for the first time. The Aula regia was the first monument in the Archaeological Zone that was opened for tourism and marked the beginning of the renovation of the residential area and the development of further monument areas.

On this occasion, the Research Center of the Imperial Palace is hosting a temporary outdoor special exhibition in the Archaeological Zone, dedicated to this anniversary. The tour offers an in-depth look and exciting stories about the development of the Imperial Palace from a medieval palace to a ruin and finally to the most significant monument of the city.
