Actually, Phillip wanted to become a writer. Today he is 34, works as an advertising copywriter, and wonders what has become of his earlier dreams. Can the poems of Rainer Maria Rilke help him find his own path?
In “Rilke and Me” and two other stories, the Mainz author Henriette Clara Herborn deals with the big questions of life. In “The Silent Guest,” a person who has been silent for 38 years must confront his past. And in “Friends,” a boy moves into a creepy high-rise, where the ghosts of his own story may be waiting for him.
Herborn tells of human emotions, memories, and the search for the meaning of one's own existence. The writer and journalist lives in Mainz and shares her passion for literature as a lecturer in creative writing.
As part of the “Rheinhessen Reads” series, she will be a guest at the Becker Winery in Mainz-Ebersheim with her stories. Here, literature and Rheinhessen wine culture meet.
