Hannelore Wingert & Michael Werner
Ah yes, America - how are we to understand you? Yet we have so much in common. Many people from present-day Rheinhessen left their homeland in the 18th century and settled in Pennsylvania. There and in other states of the USA, today around 500,000 Americans speak something like Rheinhessen dialect. We share a lot with them. Their language, culture, and music are presented by Dr. Michael Werner. Hannelore Wingert has written down small stories from her everyday life. Brief moments that provoke smiles or reflections. She writes all of this in her native language – namely in Rheinhessen dialect. She tells, among other things, of a bird concert, sleepless nights, a holiday trip, or her Sunday service at the church organ. She accompanies her reading with small musical interludes on the keyboard.
The event is part of the rheinhessenKULTur Mundartfestival 2026.
The admission is €8.00; tickets can be reserved via the email address: tickets@kulturforum-partenheim.de.
