Mittsommerswing im Kurpark Bad Kreuznach

In recent years, the event has been well-received by the audience and the internationally experienced dancers.

For those who already master the dance, there will be dance lessons on the area in front of the Kurhaus starting at 3 p.m. on June 27: Oskay Ozen and Louise Wiebalck from Darmstadt will demonstrate, among other things, how musical solo rhythms can be used in dance and will practice a small choreography. The evening will start for everyone who wants to learn to dance swing from 6 p.m. Then Katrin Kügler and Jesús Serrano Piqueras will give a swing dance taster course for beginners. The special thing: the dance teacher, herself a native of Kreuznach, opened a swing dance school in Cologne two years ago (“Swingtimes”). A self-contribution of 10-20€ per hour is requested for the dance courses.
Those who do not want to learn, but would rather watch, are invited to bring blankets and picnic baskets and picnic on the grass around the dance area. The Kurhaus will provide a beverage stand.


Live music starting at 7:30 p.m. with “The Groove Merchants”
From 7 p.m. onwards, swing music and free dancing will continue. At 7:30 p.m. there will also be a band from Frankfurt this year – the band “The Groove Merchants,” co-founded by a dancer and musician at the end of 2024, which has already played at Jazz Montez in Frankfurt. The jazz sextet evokes the good old days of the 30s and 40s and lets
fresh ideas resonate in its arrangements. Strongly influenced by the music of Count Basie, the band plays with a constant groove a sound between big band and jam band that inspires movement. From 10 p.m. onwards, there will be live music at the piano in the Kurhaus for continuing dancing.
