Walk NO.2: Urmeer, Rebe, Wildtulpe

Gau-Odernheim
from 12.04.2026 to 19.04.2026 - at 10:00 o'clock

Gau-Odernheim invites you to an extraordinary tour through the history, geology, and culture of Rheinhessen. Under the title "Primeval Sea . Vine . Wild Tulip," interested guests will be guided on a roughly three-hour walk through the impressive landscape at Petersberg.

The tour begins at the parking lot of the Petersberghalle and takes participants on a journey that reaches back millions of years – to a time when the area was still covered by a subtropical shallow sea. Along the route, guests will learn how the most fertile soils in Germany developed from these geological origins.

In addition to exciting insights into modern and historical viticulture, participants can also look forward to a botanical highlight: the wild tulip (Tulipa sylvestris), which grows in Gau-Odernheim in its largest concentration north of the Alps.

Cost: 20.00 €/person.
