Gold coin of Charlemagne

The museum at the Kaiserpfalz invites you on a historical journey from the Stone Age to the High Middle Ages. A large exhibition hall is dedicated to the Kaiserpfalz of Charlemagne. Here, you can also see the most spectacular find from the Kaiserpfalz Ingelheim, the solidus or gold coin of Charlemagne, on display. The external monuments of the Kaiserpfalz are located in immediate proximity, as the museum is situated at the entrance of the significant architectural monument.
Furthermore, the permanent exhibition provides information about prehistory and early history, the Roman era, and the early Middle Ages in the Ingelheim area. Today, two and a half life-size Roman grave figures can be seen in the museum at the Kaiserpfalz, along with a small sensation: even after 2,000 years, remnants of colored decoration can be discovered - even with the naked eye! This is something you definitely should not miss. Thanks to the mobile app "Ingelheim in Roman Times" , users can learn more about the three Roman statues.

In all departments of the museum, there are special children’s text panels for individual exhibits. In the museum courtyard, which invites you to linger with deck chairs, benches, and tables, plants from the medieval land estate regulations of Charlemagne can be studied. The museum building is accessible and equipped with a small cafeteria and a museum shop area.
virtual 360° tour invites you to explore the exhibition rooms. This provides the opportunity to visit the museum at any time and even from afar.
Additionally, an attractive and extensive event program invites you year-round to exhibitions, festivals, lectures, guided tours, and workshops on historical topics.

Note:
Admission to the museum at the Kaiserpfalz costs €3.00 per person (starting from 18 years), and entry is free for children and teenagers!
