Vinothek Winery Klosterhof

The story of a wine is what the oenologist dr. Ralf Schäfer fascinated every year! Working with the extremes of nature, with the experience of years gone by and the realization that every year you have to face new challenges that are unpredictable.

The monastery courtyard is located in the historic center of Flonheim. In the period around the middle of the 12th century until 1554, there was an Augustinian monastery with the name of St. Mary. At the Kellerbau 1959 a historic sandstone portal from this period was found. From the Reformation to the year 1839, the site of today's Klosterhof was one of the most important school locations in Rheinhessen. Today, the street name still refers to this long tradition.

In the modern Vinothek, culture and wine ambassador Anke Schäfer presents the wines of the winery, but also serves coffee and cake, wine and tappas. The kitchen parties with the Genussmanufaktur "meingemachtes" are culinary events and cooking school at the same time.

By arrangement Anke Schäfer also organizes guided tours with a visit to the Infothek in Flonheim. It provides an insight into the wine culture landscape Flonheim with modern multimedia presentation. Very nice to look at, for example, is the virtual subtropical primeval ocean with lifelike animated floating manatees. The stop in the wine shop for wine & tapas, coffee and cake is the perfect conclusion.

On 31st May the wine shop is open from 11:00 to 18:00. Take a look, taste and enjoy is the motto! The Klosterhof cuisine spoils with a tapas dish and cake of the day.
