Sattelfest in the Zellertal – Every year in September

For those who enjoy cycling across borders.
Not everyone knows the Zellertal – which is a pity. Over about 30 km, you ride from Rheinhessen into the Palatinate through the idyllic, picture-book landscape of the Wonnegau with wide views, small farms and many open doors. During the Sattelfest the motto is “get in the saddle,” roll along at a relaxed pace and take time for the occasional stop along the way. The atmosphere is wonderfully laid-back: not a perfectly staged event, but each station shows its own character – and you’re right in the middle of it.
