House concerts, exhibitions, readings, cabaret and much more...

Since the founding of KiWi in 1998, the cultural initiative has quickly grown. Spectacular performances by the Kaiserslautern cult band "Soul Providers" at the V. Eckert winery made KiWi known far beyond the borders of the place. The program went well beyond soul music, becoming increasingly colorful and diverse. Formats such as "Jazz in the Garage" and "Rock at the Winery" were established and have attracted renowned artists to Klein-Winternheim for many years - including Trance Groove, Nighthawks, and Wolf Maahn.

Young people and families were dedicated to the open-air cinema in the garden of the Schreiber organic farm, despite often battling the weather. In 2006 and for the second time in 2023, the Verbandsgemeinde Nieder-Olm awarded its honorary prize for cultural workers from the VG to KiWi. This was a great recognition for the work of all volunteers in the association and an incentive to continue on the chosen path. It has always been KiWi's goal to initiate encounters between generations and offer culture for all age groups.

The youngest were also remembered with readings from children's books and performances by the theater group 3PUNKT1, as well as Christmas tales by the Volkstheater Mainz. Unforgettable are the events of the "Cuban Nights" series with hot Caribbean rhythms and cool drinks, and the huge success of the "Musical Factory" performance in the Haybachhalle - pure party mood. The whole family was invited when the inner courtyard of the Ritzinger house was opened for a brunch with World Music, Folk, Jazz, Blues, or Rock. Along with this, a suitable selection of food and drinks was offered, tailored to the origin of the respective artists. This format has gained "momentum" in recent years through the laid-back performances of the "Rockin' Blues Band" from Mainz.

Haus Ritzinger, Haybach-Halle, and the Rathaus-Saal are repeatedly venues for exhibitions in the fields of photography, painting, sculpture, jewelry design, or textile design. In 2007, KiWi called on the residents of Klein-Winternheim to "bring their creative potential out of their living rooms." This has led to the established KiWi format "Klein-Winternheimer Creativity," including respective guest artists. Over the years, KiWi has established itself as a well-functioning "motor" for the revitalization of local culture and has become an integral part of community activities. Well-attended events motivate us to maintain the program and also to try new things.

101 voting members and a very stable financial situation allow us to continue offering a demanding and diverse cultural program. Please continue to support the voluntary work of KiWi in Klein-Winternheim to keep the fire burning and continue bringing life to the "cultural abode" – because culture is good for you! Attend our events, become a member of KiWi, or actively work with KiWi!
