Bluegrass is a style of country music that emerged from various genres (blues, jazz, Irish folk) and developed around 1930 in Kentucky and Tennessee. The uniqueness also lies in the instruments used in Bluegrass: 5 String Banjo, Mandolin, Dobro, Fiddle, Guitar, Double Bass. They combine elements of traditional Bluegrass with other styles such as rock, gypsy, swing, and classical in their captivating music. A trademark of Grass Unlimited is the rich, multi-part vocal harmonies that give their music a lively cheerfulness. The six musicians are all specialists on their respective instruments – often even on several.
The band's repertoire includes several hundred titles accumulated over the decades, from which an entertaining program for the performance at KiWi is assembled.
