KulturSINN | Skandinavische Orgelklänge

When the Katharinenmarkt enlivens the old town outside, a unique sound world unfolds in the Katharinenkirche. On October 18, 2026, the young exceptional organist Jan Liebermann will be a guest in Oppenheim – with a program themed around water. The evening spans from Lake Constance to the Jordan and the rivers of Babylon – featuring works by Bach, Karg-Elert, Mendelssohn, and Liszt. A program that makes the entire spectrum of the organ from delicate timbres to great sound power experienceable.

Sitting at the organ is Jan Liebermann, one of the most exciting young organists of his generation. The musician, born in 2005, has received international awards and has already performed at venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie and Westminster Abbey. In 2025 he was the first organist to receive the Förderpreis Deutschlandfunk.

Following the cultural enjoyment is the culinary experience: Guests at the Oppenheimer Restaurant Völkers can look forward to a refined 3-course menu. “In the spirit of KulturSINN: culture, church, and culinary arts," says Rudolf Felgner, the head of the Tourism Service Center of the Verbandsgemeinde Rhein-Selz.
