Personae

“Personae” is an invitation to a journey into the rich, poetic world of Greek mythology – how the Greeks created Personae to explain the entire universe;  moral, aesthetic, and philosophical. This exhibition is a playful rethinking of divine beings, floating faces in all phenomena. It celebrates nature - Mother Nature - the woman and her deep connection to the earth, the possibility that all nature is ensouled ... down to the last element. And a little reminder that we are not the gods – but merely mask ourselves as such.

Darina Doyle was born in Ireland and studied art and design in Galway. In 1996, she moved to Bingen am Rhein, where she lives today with her husband and two children.

In addition to her studio practice, she runs art classes for children at various schools and the Young Art Workshop in Bingen. She is also involved in a variety of projects and creative workshops at the Museum am Strom.

It is of great importance to her to promote the creativity of the next generation and to instill in them the same curiosity and wonder that drive her own artistic work.

Darina Doyle has been a member of the artist group Nahe since 2023 and received the art promotion award from the City of Bingen in 2024.
