Zellertalweg (trail Wachenheim - Mölsheim - Zell - Niefernheim)

This section of the 45 km long Zellertalweg leads from Wachenheim via Mölsheim, Zell and Niefernheim back to Wachenheim.

This almost 7-kilometer round starts and ends in Wachenheim.
The village Wachenheim (Rheinhessen) was first mentioned in the Lorsch Codex in 765. The Lords of Wachenheim built a castle, of which a seven-story residential tower exists today (Schlossgut Lüll). It is the largest of its kind in Rheinhessen.

A dream place for a break on the way is the Weinrast with vision in Mölsheim, where on Sundays and public holidays regional wines and delicacies are offered.

The townscape of Zell is dominated by the towers of the two churches. The memorial - a few hundred meters from the gates of Zell - is known as the symbol of Zellertal. A very special vineyard is located exactly between Mölsheim and Zell, the "Schneggewingert" has the form of a snail shell and is a project of various winemakers from Zellertals.

The tour can of course also be started from any other point and can be combined with the west adjacent Zellertalweg round Harxheim-Zell-Einselthum-Harxheim and with the round Monsheim-Mölsheim-Wachenheim-Monsheim.
