The Protestant church in medieval Ober-Saulheim, which was built in 1284, was dedicated to Saint Vitus. It was constructed in the Gothic architectural style, which is particularly evident in the characteristic pointed arches and ribbed vaults. In addition, several pillars have been preserved, as well as the Gothic pointed arch of the charming little entrance to Untergasse, which probably served as the door arch of the original main entrance of the medieval church. At the same time, the church building functioned as a fortified church, providing protection to the population in the event of enemy attacks.
