The mix of historic backdrop and regional variety makes the market a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike.
The offerings range from fresh fruits and vegetables from the region to bread, cheese, and meat products, as well as fine delicacies. During peak season, the selection is expanded by 20 to 30 additional daily stands, so seasonal specialties like asparagus, strawberries, or grapes also find their fixed place.
Mainzer Market Breakfast – Enjoyment in a Sociable Setting
A special experience is provided by the Mainz Market Breakfast, which takes place on Saturdays from March to November. In a relaxed atmosphere, visitors can enjoy “Weck, Worscht und Woi” and taste wines from the Mainz winemakers. Due to construction work, the market breakfast cannot take place at Liebfrauenplatz until approximately 2030. Instead, it will be offered each time from 9 AM to 3 PM at changing locations in immediate proximity to the weekly market:
Tritonplatz: Centrally located near the Mainz theaters, with wine and food from the market stands at Gutenbergplatz.
Fischtorplatz: Market breakfast with a view of the Rhine and a maritime flair.
Schillerplatz: Around the Fastnachtsbrunnen. Neighboring gastronomic establishments invite you to recharge.

The Mainz Weekly Market is centrally located and easily accessible for wheelchair users. Event toilets are located at Bischofsplatz, and additional public restrooms are available in Badergasse/Augustinerstraße, along Adenauer-Ufer, and near the State Theater.
