Every week on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 7 AM to 2 PM, the cathedral square in Mainz transforms into a vibrant market scene. The Mainz weekly market is one of the most beautiful weekly markets in Germany and invites you to shop in a special atmosphere, to stroll, and to enjoy regional diversity.
Here you will find a wide selection of fresh foods and specialties: from crisp vegetables and fruit from the region to delicious delicacies, bread, cheese, and meat products. In the high season, 20-30 temporary stalls complement the offer, so that seasonal highlights like asparagus, strawberries, and grapes are not to be missed.
Mainz Market Breakfast – Socializing and Enjoyment on Saturday
A very special highlight is the Mainz Market Breakfast, which takes place on Saturdays from March to November. Here you can enjoy Weck, Worscht, and Woi in a relaxed atmosphere while tasting the fine wines of Mainz winemakers. Due to construction work, the event cannot take place as usual at Liebfrauenplatz until approximately 2030. Instead, the market breakfast will be offered at various locations from 9 AM to 3 PM near the weekly market:
Leichhof: Enjoy Mainz wine with a view of the cathedral. Nearby gastronomy businesses ensure your physical well-being.
Tritonplatz: Centrally located, close to the Mainz theaters. Here you can find wine and culinary additions from the market stalls at Gutenbergplatz.
Fischtorplatz (March – October): Wine with a maritime flair and a direct view of the Rhine.

The Mainz weekly market is centrally located and very accessible for wheelchair users. Additionally, event toilets are available at Bischofsplatz as well as public toilets in Badergasse/Augustinerstraße, at Adenauer-Ufer, and near the state theater.
