Through the door behind the altar of the impressive cross-shaped hall from 1775, one enters the medieval tower, which once formed the chancel of the predecessor building. From there, a modern staircase leads up to the pulpit through the former east window. On the walls, as well as particularly in the deep window recesses of the three tower windows, high-quality wall paintings from around 1420 have been preserved. They depict, among other things, scenes from the Passion and Resurrection of Christ, including Christ on the Mount of Olives, the Lamentation of Christ, and "Noli me tangere." The east wall is dedicated to the Last Judgment: the enthroned Christ is accompanied by Mary and John the Baptist. This depiction is supplemented by scenes on the eastern sides of the north and south windows, which show the damned in hell as well as the procession of the blessed with Peter at the heavenly gates; above this, a Coronation of Mary is depicted. The Gothic sacrament house was added towards the end of the 15th century.
