The Mayor Adam Schmitt winery is located in the tranquil Mommenheim in the middle of Rheinhessen. The 11 hectares of vineyards have been cultivated ecologically since 1996. Much emphasis is placed on careful processing both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Most of the wines are fermented spontaneously and expanded “sur lie”. The aim is to bring the wine to the bottle without major intervention on the part of the winemaker. The aim is to produce a wine that is as authentic as possible with a terroir. In addition to Riesling, the Burgundy varieties make up the majority of the grape varieties. Some historical grape varieties such as B. Green Frankisch and Arbst complete the range. As a specialty, the winery also manages vineyards in the Rheingau.
