The Alzey Museum, founded in 1906, is one of the major regional history museums in Rhineland-Palatinate. The general museum tour offers an insight and introduction to the three departments of the museum: City and Regional History (Middle Ages to 20th century), Prehistory and Early History (Old Stone Age to Franks), and the Geology of the Mainz Basin.
