9. Classic Car Day in Alzey

A special kind of attraction awaits visitors every year in August in Alzey. Approximately 300 vehicles from past times will drive through the historic town center of the Volkerstadt during the Alzey vintage car meeting. The vintage car meeting takes place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The arriving vehicles are directed via St.-Georgen-Straße to Rossmarkt. There, an experienced vintage car specialist will present each car, its characteristics, type, and year of manufacture to interested spectators over loudspeakers. Afterwards, the vehicles are assigned a parking space in the parking deck of the underground garage, where enthusiasts can view the classic cars at their leisure and let them take effect on them. Complementing the showcased vehicle classics, two musicians at Fischmarkt accompany the presentation with sounds from the 50s and 60s. Catering is provided by the Alzeyer Carneval Gesellschaft and local gastronomy.
