"Alte Eltern" - Lesung mit Autor Volker Kitz

The Protestant Deanery Alzey-Wöllstein invites you to a reading with Volker Kitz. On Friday, February 20, 2026, bestselling author Kitz will present his book “Old Parents: About Caring and the Time We Have Left” at 7 PM in the Kleine Kirche Alzey.
What does it mean when parents grow old? In a personally literary essay, Volker Kitz tells the story of his father, who has been diagnosed with dementia. He explores how familial responsibility shifts over the course of life – how familiar paths transform into new trails.
Volker Kitz was born in 1975 and is a writer and lawyer. His books regularly feature on bestseller lists.
The work “Old Parents,” published in 2024, was on the shortlist for the Evangelical Book Prize last year.

Admission is free. The book can be purchased during the reading – Schmitt & Hahn Alzey, formerly the C. Machwirth bookstore, will set up a book table.
