On March 1, 2026, an extraordinary spider and insect exhibition will take place in the Old Locomotive Hall in Mainz, offering visitors a fascinating insight into the world of invertebrates.
The exhibition presents over 500 living and preserved specimens from around the world, including tarantulas, scorpions, insects, millipedes, mantises, snails, and various species of crustaceans. A special highlight of the exhibition is the world's largest living tarantula – the Goliath tarantula – which can be admired up close. In addition to the experiential factor, the event places great emphasis on knowledge transfer and breaking down prejudices against these often misunderstood animal species.
The exhibition is aimed at families, nature enthusiasts, school classes, and curious visitors of all ages.
Admission: €12 for adults (ages 17 and up), €10 for children (ages 3–16), €40 for a family ticket (2 adults + 2 children)
