Caro Trischler & Ulf Kleiner

Caro Trischler's specialty is the soft, penetrating tones that sound completely relaxed in English and Portuguese. She sings Brazilian music by João Gilberto & Elis Regina with the same conviction and passion as folk & jazz in the style of Joni Mitchell.

In 2020, the Mainz singer and current Worms Jazz Prize winner released her debut album “North e Sul,” a musical trip with soul, jazz, and country from North to South America in homage to Brazilian music. “North e Sul” is a collection of selected favorite pieces that she lovingly arranged and expanded together with pianist and producer Ulf Kleiner – known from bands like Fola Dada, Joo Kraus, and DePhazz, as well as for producing albums for Daniel Stelter and Jeff Cascaro. In May 2025, her second album “When You Know You Know” was released, for which Trischler and Kleiner collaborated again and now present mostly original compositions – in English, with two pieces in Portuguese. They remain true to their unique genre mix and unmistakable signature. 

In her lyrics, Caro Trischler tells personal stories that range from euphoria to world pain and melancholy, and she does not shy away from getting close to her audience in an intimate way. The duo's music effortlessly moves between jazz, soul, and folk, reflecting both their passion for Brazilian music and the diversity of their musical influences. The vocal parts alternate with the instrumental and solo passages of Ulf's distinctive Fender Rhodes sound – a harmonious blend that allows Caro's unique voice to shine unobtrusively yet distinctly.
