Christmas Market

On the first Saturday in December, from 10.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m., the Alzeyer Christkindchesmarkt opens its doors. Around 60 closely nestled stalls and huts crowd the narrow streets of the festively decorated old town. The scent of mulled wine, grilled sausages, and roasted almonds wafts through the streets, and a festive program spreads that cozy atmosphere which makes this traditional market so attractive.
The Alzeyer Christkindchesmarkt is exclusively organized by amateurs, meaning by clubs, schools, kindergartens, institutions, action communities, groups, and private individuals from the entire district. Some participants have been preparing for this day for almost a year, not only creating original gift ideas but also spending a lot of time and imagination to decorate their huts and stalls appropriately.
