Gau-Bischofsheimer Organ Concerts
Francisco Amaya hails from Alcoy (Alicante). He holds a degree in organ and a master's in music research from the Universidad Miguel Hernández. The former professor at the Conservatorio de Música de Torrent (CPMT) has been the titular organist at the San Jorge Church in Alcoy (Spain) since 2025. His extensive concert activity has taken him to significant festivals across Europe. Exceptionally, he was invited to perform at Westminster Abbey in London on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
In his program, he will present Antonio de Cabezòn, the court organist of Charles I, who is considered the most significant Spanish composer and organist of the Renaissance. Francisco Correa de Arauxo has been selected as a representative of Spain's Golden Age. The composer Antonio Soler created brilliant works as a student of Domenico Scarlatti. The classics have notably reached Spain. Hilarión Eslava significantly contributed to reforming Spanish church and organ music in the 19th century and leading it to new impulses. The composition by Adolfo Gutiérrez Viejo showcases the tonal colors of the 21st century. Other equally exciting representatives of the musical epochs include Sebastián Aguilera de Heredia, Juan Bautista Cabanilles, Vincente Martin y Soler, Jesus Guridi, and Eduardo Torres. A very diverse program awaits the visitors.
