Geritzt und geätzt - The etchings of Ludwig Göbel
Short lecture
Throughout his career, the Ingelheim painter and graphic artist Ludwig Göbel (1889-1964) explored the medium of etching. The innovative graphic artist Peter Halm (1854-1923) from Mainz - co-founder of the Association for Original Etching in Munich - was his professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and his early artistic role model. Using etching and drypoint techniques, Ludwig Göbel created a fascinating world in black and white.
The art historian Hilke Portwich M. A., who is currently making a scientific inventory of Ludwig Göbel's estate in the collection of the Museum bei der Kaiserpfalz, will present several of his etchings in her lecture.
Lecture: Hilke Portwich M. A., art historian, Ingelheim
