Marie Diot is a singer-songwriter. Her music is a mix of catchy indie-pop, elegant chanson, and a lot of fun. At her concerts, you can enjoy quirky, funny announcements and songs that could be hits.

That they actually become hits may seem unlikely, as they deal with topics that at first glance don’t seem hit-worthy.

For example, they are about intercoms, lost house keys, and fishing without hooks. Yet Marie manages to sing even such curious topics with her open-minded perspective and cheerfully witty style, so that in the end, everyone in the audience can relate to the songs. Because what Marie has to say is always understood right away, but it still makes you think.

On her current album “A Kohlrabi Among Hummingbirds,” the singer-songwriter presents herself musically and thematically versatile and skillfully balances between melancholy and silliness, indie-pop and chanson, uniting everything with her unique style. Supported by the fabulous multi-instrumentalist Fabian Großberg, her concerts have already taken her across Germany and Switzerland.
