Purple Rising

Deep Purple is regarded along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath as a pioneer of classic hard rock. With songs like Black Night, Smoke on the Water, Child in Time, and Burn, the band created classics for eternity that have lost none of their freshness and authenticity even after 50 years.
Purple Rising interprets the music of Deep Purple skillfully and virtuously, very much in the style of the seventies: Furious improvisations and wild duels between guitarist Joachim Villwock and keyboardist Andreas König, who has already shared the stage with Deep Purple legend Jon Lord, often push songs like Child in Time and Space Truckin’ to the 20-minute mark. The charismatic, powerful frontman Michael Baum seemingly effortlessly masters the balancing act between all the Deep Purple singers. Just like the original in 1970, every concert becomes a unique experience.

Purple Rising, however, not only delights musically but also with an energy-filled stage show using original instruments. Marshall stacks, a Ludwig drum set, a Hammond C-3 along with two Leslies, and the Fender Stratocaster are just as obligatory for an authentic performance as the extravagant stage antics of the guitarist, which evoke memories of the stage presence of the young Ritchie Blackmore.
