Riverboat Shuffle 2026

The Jazz Club Rheinhessen e.V. is hosting a Riverboat Shuffle on June 28, 2026. It starts at 12 PM in Bingen - Bridge 7.

With the "Newcomer Jazz Award of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate" awarded for the first time in 2024, bandleader and saxophonist Paul Scheugenpflug creates a balance between catchy melodies and energetic jazz improvisation with his compositions. The focus is on a diverse and groove-based jazz program with influences from fusion, hip-hop, and pop. The quartet consists of Paul Scheugenpflug – Saxophones, Flute, Composition, Valentin Findling – Piano, Keyboards, Moritz Neukam – Bass, Joshua Knauber – Drums.

The band New Orleans Joymakers was founded in 2005. The repertoire of a good New Orleans band consists of blues, rags, marches, and American hits. It has always been functional music: "from the cradle to the grave – music for all occasions." The bandleaders are trumpeter Harald Möbus and drummer Udo Beilborn, who have appeared in several formations. John Defferary plays clarinet, embodying everything that characterizes the New Orleans style, melodic leadership, and the sensitive elegance of the clarinet. The banjo player and guitarist Alex Friedrich is responsible for the harmonies and rhythm. Bassist Michael Bauer is a true stroke of luck for the band.
