Tango Transit "Engelsrausch"

Tango Transit consists of Martin Wagner (accordion), Hanns Höhn (bass), and Andreas Neubauer (drums). Since 2008, the trio from the Frankfurt area has impressed with over 400 concerts at home and abroad, as well as released four CDs and one live DVD.

Engelrausch: In an unusually independent way, the trio interprets Christmas songs. Not in the style of "Swinging Christmas"—Martin Wagner, Hanns Höhn, and Andreas Neubauer play an original, jazzy, and groovy take on tradition that connects with the emotions in almost a magical way.

The cabaret artist and music literate Konrad Beikircher put it this way: "Christmas—brushed against the grain in form but the feeling remains, no, it has become cleaner, more intense because of it. A music has emerged that has been unheard until now and will not leave you. An Engelrausch for Rauschengel." The Journal Frankfurt writes: "The traditional songs are virtuosic, grooving, breathing, have atmosphere, character, and are celebratory in a way that is free of kitsch." Since 2004, Hanns Höhn and Martin Wagner have been delighting audiences every year during the Advent and Christmas season with their winter jazz program 'Engelrausch'. In 2012, they expanded the duo by adding drummer Andreas Neubauer, with whom they have successfully toured and released CDs for a long time as Tango Transit.

Together, they conjure up a wonderful Christmas world and give the songs back their original character, without cloves and cinnamon, but with primal groove, utmost sensitivity, musical diversity, and freshness in improvisation, virtuosic and captivating. Simply intoxicating.
