Workshop und Exkursion. Schildkröten in rheinhessischen Meeresbuchten

on 09.05.2026 at 14:00 o'clock

30 million years ago, sandy beaches and palm trees characterized the bays of the Alzey region. Sharks, manatees, turtles – what else swam in the Rheinhessen Sea? In line with the museum evening the day before, we will head out into the field to discover the coastline – it is still visible in the terrain. Back at the Museum Alzey, the original fossils will be examined. A communal dinner will conclude the workshop on Saturday evening.
Weatherproof clothing and sturdy footwear are necessary.
Leaders: Dr. Bernd Werner, Prof. Dr. Tim Kerig
Location / Time: Museum Alzey / all day
