Worms-Hochheim

The new Jewish cemetery in Hochheim has an exciting history. Originally, 14,000m² were purchased by the Jewish community opposite the newly established cemetery of the Christian Worms community. Why was a completely new cemetery built shortly thereafter on the Hochheim site? The mourning hall, built in the Darmstadt Art Nouveau style, is preserved as an important Jewish cultural monument for Rhineland Palatinate, with Mainz as a focal point. Brief yet detailed explanations highlight the individual features. Jewish personalities from Worms come to life at their gravestones. For example, the gravestone of Dr. Albert Greif, the founder of the Hochstraße private clinic, which later became the Hochstift.

Jewish characteristics are presented vividly and illustratively.
