ZWISCHEN TAKT UND TAUMEL - Eine musikalisch-literarische Zeitreise

As part of the Rheinland-Pfalz Culture Summer 2026, the Trio Magos invites you on a journey to that vibrant zone between beginnings and abysses – between brilliance and doubt, between rhythm and frenzy.
On August 28, the wine cellar will become a stage for lively encounters between music, literature, and contemporary history: in the afternoon with the family concert "Emil and the Detectives," and in the evening with the musical-literary program "Between Rhythm and Frenzy" for adults.
The Trio Magos is dedicated to chamber music masterpieces by Igor Stravinsky, Gabriel Fauré, and Ernest Bloch with great passion. The music is framed by texts from Karl Kraus, Rainer Maria Rilke, and Bertolt Brecht. Together with actress Naomi Lohse-Baumert, a multifaceted picture of the interwar period emerges – sometimes light as a feather, sometimes cuttingly clear, sometimes grotesque, and always infused with that electric tension that characterized the 1920s and still feels surprisingly relevant today.

The name Trio Magos (Spanish for "the magicians") not only connects the first names of its members Maxi Hennemann, Goun Kim, and Sebastian Hennemann, but also represents the artistic identity of the ensemble. With clarinet, cello, and piano, the three musicians explore a colorful sound world and have already been awarded multiple prizes for their work.
The event is under the patronage of District Administrator Thomas Barth, Mainz-Bingen district.
