New house in old walls on the historic market square of Flonheim.
The story of a wine is what the oenologist dr. Ralf Schäfer fascinated every year! To work with the extremes of nature, with the experience of years past and the realization that each year must face new challenges that are unpredictable. These are the defining factors that encourage the winemaker to make the right decisions with passion and motivation - for wines that you just want to enjoy!
The monastery courtyard is located in the historic center of Flonheim. In the period around the middle of the 12th century until 1554, there was an Augustinian monastery with the name of St. Mary. At the Kellerbau 1959 a historic sandstone portal from this period was found. From the Reformation to the year 1839, the site of today's Klosterhof was one of the most important school locations in Rheinhessen. Today, the street name still refers to this long tradition.
In the wine shop Klosterhof you can taste the wines of the family winery of the same name and enjoy them in the bar. The winemaker's family invites you to linger over coffee and a small selection of home-baked cakes. The culture and wine ambassador Anke Schäfer organizes by appointment local guides, a museum visit, which gives an insight into the wine culture landscape Flonheim, or a wine evening in the wine shop with delicious food and wine cellar and a lot of knowledge about the wine.
