Garden guide Rheinhessen

Making the hidden beauties of our region tangible is something that the Interessengemeinschaft (IG) "Gartenführer Rheinhessen" has set itself the task. From the traditional farmer's garden, the English landscape or rose garden to the fragrant herb garden, Rheinhessen has an attractive garden tradition.

Traditional garden market

Every year in April, around the winegrowing domain in Oppenheim - (DLR) service center rural area, Wormser Str. 111 and 162 takes place the traditional garden market and is one of the top events of the region in terms of garden culture. More than 40 exhibitors offer a broad spectrum around the topic of garden (flowers, herbs, perennials, woody plants, vegetables, balcony plants, rarities, garden books, garden decorations, etc.). Lectures in the auditorium and garden tours in the historic garden of the domain are very popular with the guests. An individual cake offer, other food and drinks as well as the excellent wines of the wine-growing domain invite you to a pleasurable break.

Days of open gardens and courtyards

Every year in May, June and September, Rhineland-based garden owners open their gates and doors to their private gardens and yards. Green Paradise - this is how our visitors from near and far time and again call our gardens, which are characterized by the fertile soils, the favorable climate, the wine and the rolling hills, but also by the history and not least by the Rheinhessian personality. Whether alone, as a quiet observer or in company - a visit to Rheinhessen's gardens will always be an experience for you.

Individual events in the gardens

From March to November, individual events take place in different gardens and in nature. Various seasonal themes, guided tours, readings, workshops such. For example, the production of vine wreaths, decoration of natural materials, plant troughs, flower dreams of felt and the harvesting and processing of herbs and edible flowers and much more are offered.

Detailed information about all events can be found on our homepage.
