The Hiwweltour Zornheimer Berg starts on the outskirts of Zornheim. From the parking lot at the charming Lindenplatz with the Three Graces Fountain and from the parking lot at the sports field, the starting and finishing point of this 6.8 km long hike leads to the "Ruhkreuz" on the Zornheimer Berg. It is entertaining and interesting with a total of ten information boards.
The first proverbial highlight of the hike is the Hasenberg, which offers great views into the Taunus. At the rest area at the Jubiläumswald you can catch a quick breath. A total of 200 trees were planted here in 2016 in honor of Rheinhessen's 200th birthday, which now grows and thrives alongside the sculpture of a local artist.
Continue through wide fields and rolling meadows, past grazing cow herds and through the middle of the lush fruit community Zornheims. From cherries over apples and pears to mirabelle plums, depending on the season, there is much to marvel at along the way.
Afterwards, the hike comfortably leads downhill to the species-rich biotope Rohrwiesen and still accompanies a fruit as far as the eye can see. The biodiversity of the biotope announces itself from afar with an intense natural background noise, which decreases only when the Hiwweltour passes into the vineyards.
The altitude difference to Wingertshäuschen "Auf dem Winkel" are quickly forgotten, while enjoying the magnificent views in the Taunus and in the sunshine even up to the skyline of Frankfurt am Main.
Now the trail leads to the Selzberg, where you can see many other grapevines as well as the former Selztal position from the First World War and thus get an exciting insight into the history of the region.
The Wingert cottage "Am Hohberg" marks the final return of the Hiwweltour. Before the circle closes informed the last information board about the emergence of the landscape and you again reached the outskirts of Zornheim at the Cross of Cross. There you can make yourself comfortable on the comfortable hiking lounger and enjoy the great view of parts of the covered trail.
A63 exit Saulheim, continue on L401 and L432, left in Wilhelm-Leuschner Straße, in the roundabout right on K34 Zornheimer Straße, 3 km to Zornheim, at the traffic lights turn right into Obere Pfortenstraße, then left towards Lindenplatz
