The wine program 2019

In this presentation Rheinhessen will be shown as a dynamic, attractive wine region, which is profiled with the classic grape varieties, with terroir embossed wines and outstanding locations. New Rheinhessen wines of the cellars

Modern cellar wines

So if wine from Rheinhessen comes on the table and in the glasses of the consumers, then it comes for the most part from the portfolio of efficient wineries.

In recent years, it has been observed that the wineries are increasingly positioning new Rheinhessen wines in the middle and higher price segment. If those

Quality and marketing efforts are crowned with success, then this is an important step for Rheinhessen - both up on the quality ladder as well as forward in the perception as a competent, modern and powerful wine-growing region.

Striking are the following developments:

  • Rheinhessen has a market share of 35% in the range of German wines in the food trade
  • the proportion of varietal wines is increasing
  • from Rheinhessen come increasingly dry and semi-dry wines
  • Riesling, Dornfelder and Müller-Thurgau are particularly successful
  • Rheinhessen in colors: almost 60% white wine, about 30% red wine and about 10% rosé wine

At the Wine Forum Rheinhessen wines of the wineries are presented, which are typical of these ambitious Rheinhessen on the shelves of the trade.

For information on the individual wines, please refer to the wine passes on the tasting table.
