This bikepacking tour takes you across Rheinhessen in two varied stages – from the Rhine over the rolling “Hiwwel” hills of the wine landscape to the Nahe valley. Along the way, wide views, small wine villages and unique places between vineyards, ruins and rocky landscapes await you.

The first stage starts at the Rhine in Nierstein and leads along former railway lines through the Selz valley into the hilly wine landscape of Rheinhessen. Via the Petersberg with wide panoramic views, the route continues through Alzey and up to the Flonheim plateau with trullo, quarry and the Beller church ruins.

The second day leads through Rheinhessen Switzerland and the Nahe valley back to the Rhine. Along scenic ridges, gravel tracks and small villages, the route passes castles, rock formations and vineyards towards Bad Kreuznach and finally Bingen.
