The old, friendly, and somewhat quirky Pettersson lives alone on his small farm in the middle of Swedish nature. His chickens and the rooster keep him busy, yet he feels a bit lonely. One day, his neighbor Beda Andersson gives him a cat so he won't be so alone anymore. When Findus, his cat, suddenly starts to talk, joy and chaos ensue.
