Winegrower on the red slope

Winery Dätwyl

In 1801, our ancestors came from Switzerland and were enthusiastic about the generous, formerly baronial estate with optimal conditions for viticulture.
The Achim + Heiko Dettweiler brothers in the 8th generation share this motivation and enthusiasm unchanged.
Both have studied viticulture in Geisenheim after completing a practical viticulture apprenticeship and are responsible for vineyards, cellars and wine tasting.
Their wives Heike Dettweiler and Nicole Kühnel are responsible for accounting, event planning, customer service and guest rooms.
Visit us at the winery, taste our wines in the wine shop, look over our shoulders in the vineyard and the cellar.
Take a few days holiday in idyllic surroundings; We are looking forward to welcoming you!

On the estate English and German are spoken.

Our farm is located in Wintersheim, a small, quiet, almost hidden wine village, nestled in the sun-drenched landscape of Rheinhessen. Over 200 years ago, our family discovered this location. Our ancestors were enthusiastic about the property, which originally belonged to a nobleman. In our small guest house we have furnished for you three lovingly equipped guest rooms. The rooms can also be used as a holiday apartment with a kitchen.
Let the stall dangle and just relax in the shade of our medieval fortified tower. Enjoy our wines on our summer terrace, surrounded by kiwis and figs. From fresh Gutsriesling to barrique-matured Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot red wines, you can taste our wines.

Wintersheim is located in the southern part of Rheinhessen surrounded by vineyards and fertile farmland. The cities of Alzey, Worms and Oppenheim and their historic buildings are easy to reach and invite you to spend an entertaining day. Just 20 minutes away is Nierstein am Rhein with its famous vineyard "Roter Hang". A walk along the high altitude trail through the vineyards overlooking the Rhine Valley is a highlight of your stay.
