Winery Kirchberg-Hof

The Kirchberg-Hof was built in 1892 by Christian Mees and lies in the shadow of the church of Stein-Bockenheim, in the heart of Rheinhessische Schweiz. The name was the location below the church, which is located on a hill, the "Kirchberg". The Kirchberg-Hof is farmed by the Mees family and is a mixed farm with wine and arable faming, typical for Rheinhessen. Some of our vineyards start right behind our farm. We offer you fruity white wines, tasty red wines, sparkling wine and tingling Secco.

On the estate only German is spoken.

The location was mentioned in 1841 with the name "in der Herkretz". It is believed that the name was created by "Kretz at the army road". However, the interpretation of "Kretz" as a clearing land (scratching, Schiffeltechnik) is controversial.

As always in Rheinhessen, this name comes from the southern position of the vineyards.
