Involved in one of the restored parts of the old city wall (in the monastery street) is also the restored pigeon tower. In front of the city wall stands the monument to the famous Alzeyer vine grower Georg Scheu (1879-1949). Georg Scheu was the first director of the Alzeyer Rebschule, which he has developed into a large state grape breeding center. Scheus Kreuzungszüchtungen were the well-known grape varieties Scheurebe, Huxel, Faber and Siegerrebe and Chancellor, Würzer, sprinkler and Septimer forth.
