The story of our winery began in 2005 with a small piece of vineyard and a love of nature. While studying in Geisenheim, we, Esther and Philipp, got to know each other and from then on built up our own winery together. Over the years, the winery grows, always focusing on organic wine culture. Since 2008, we have been members of Ecovin, the largest association of organically working wineries. The winery stands on historical ground and soil. In the middle ages there was a castle in immediate proximity. According to stories it was the local domicile of knight Hundt, the present landmark of Saulheim. The garden of the castle at that time was situated under today's winery walls. The knight also leaves his traces behind in the winemaker's courtyard: sparkling wine line bears his name and makes the wine village Saulheim popular across its borders. The winery Kirchberg-Hof is situated in Stein-Bockenheim in the middle of the Switzerland of Rheinhessen. In 1892 Christian Mees laid the foundation of our company and now the fifth generation already cultivates the family winery. In 2017 our comfortable vinotheque with court bar was built. In summer our wine lounge in the courtyard allures to take a closer look at the menu and maybe try our wines with the rhinehessican delicacies out of the winemaker's kitchen.
From an original mill business with barrelled wine, agriculture and livestock emerged three generations ago a winery with bottle wine marketing. The suitable place for that is the vinotheque in the modern wine lounge with wine bar. Who wants to can also take a seat outside under the shade giving plane trees to do a wine tasting.
